In April, 2013 our official name was changed from Canadian Amateur DanceSport Association (CADA) to Canada DanceSport (CDS) . Our Association had been known by the acronym CADA for more than three decades. Many DanceSport athletes would associate CADA with us because of our long history. If you come across a new Canadian dance organization using the acronym CADA, it is not associated with us. We are the only Canadian Dance authority recognized and a member of the Canadian Olympic Association (COC) and Sport Canada. Our World body, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) is also the sole International DanceSport authority recognized by the International Olympic Association (IOC).
Any athlete competing in the Recognized/sanctioned competitions listed below must be a current paid up member of a CDS Regional Association or a Recognized CDS Association. All of these recognized/sanctioned events will be run under CDS and its Regional Associations’ competition rules.
